OMG: The smart solution for large Angle Heads

Angle heads are a versatile solution for a wide range of machining operations. The Digital version of the TAV30, however, stands out thanks to its highly specialized design, engineered to ensure high performance even in the most demanding applications.

A key feature of this angle head is the QuadBlock® system with adjustable support pins, specifically designed to effectively withstand the axial and radial forces generated during heavy-duty machining. The result is superior stability — the core principle behind the entire system.

When handling large angle heads, one of the main limitations of machine tools can be the weight of the unit. The tool changer arm may not be able to support the load of the head or may exceed the maximum allowable overturning moment. Similarly, the tool magazine may also face limitations related to overall dimensions and available space.

To meet these requirements, we design dedicated Pick-up systems, such as the one shown in the picture, allowing the machine tool to automatically deposit the angle head at the end of the machining process and retrieve it again during the next cycle.

Pick-up systems can be designed for both vertical spindle and horizontal spindle machines.
